sigh…
i heard through the grapevine that the lab won’t consider bringing me back because of my blog post last year detailing the unethical and inept decision making behind my termination – specifically the audio recording.
look guys – you dicked me over, plain and simple. i’m sure the recording was embarrassing for you – but the correct way to avoid embarrassment like that is to behave ethically in the first place. i’m reminded of all those corrupt police officers who become angry when being recorded on the job… ew.
and please try to be a little thankful that i didn’t seek any legal remedies – my friend over at Gibson Dunn seemed to think i have a strong case.

This sort of thing reduces any hope I might have had that previous practices at the Lab might have been rescinded. It sounds as if it is business as usual.
I’m very sorry to hear that, and I do hope that you will find an appropriate (and possibly even better) employment for your talent and skill soon. You deserve it.
Our (game development) team discussed this a few months ago and we were certain you got screwed. I’ve been in a similar situation a couple times in my life and I can empathize. I once automated several aspects of a company, from sales to repair, and after bringing company profits from hundreds of thousands to millions per year they decided they didn’t need me anymore. Two years after I left they went bankrupt, sold out, and now they are back at square one (doing everything manually).
